| Fire Detection -
As a basic, all Technology Rooms need some form of fire detection to
satisfy health and safety requirements. There can be standalone fire
detection systems within the building but must be linked back to the
main building fire panel, which is linked to the fire services. If
your room has a Fire Suppression System then detection comes as part
of the package. Fire Suppression- These systems are only for use where people are not habtually resident
(e.g. computer rooms), as whilst the gases are not toxic, it is
not a good idea to be in there when the gas is dumped (see
operations section for holding off gas release). In order for the
system to be effective it needs to be linked into other
environmental systems (e.g. A/C, fresh air etc. to ensure gas
remains in the room for a set period). The system works on a 2
knock basis to prevent accidental triggering.
