Cleaning Computer Rooms
A Computer Room needs to be kept clean and dust free. Why? Well any contaminants will be stirred up by the Air Conditioning units and delivered straight into the intakes of your mission critical servers where they will sit causing the units to overheat. The first step to a clean Computer Room is to ensure that all storage materials (e.g. boxes) are removed from the room, as they are a major source of contaminants. Secondly, try to make the area 'Lights Out' by limiting the entry of personnel to only key activities (e.g. installing a new server). Lastly but by no means least, ensure that once a year a deep clean of the room is undertaken. These 3 steps will help to ensure that your critical room keeps functioning as you intended.
What gets Cleaned?
All surfaces are cleaned including the underfloor void, a major area of potential contamination. The outside of racks are cleaned (inside can also be cleaned if necessary) and the floor tiles are cleaned ensuring they retain their anti-static properties. For a Data Sheet, Click here!
