In real terms, there are 3 basic functional
flavours of PDU:
Metered PDU's - These show the power load
on the unit itself
Smart PDU's - These allow you to
monitor the power load remotely (via IP, SNMP, etc.) via in-built
web pages, an network management appllication or ServerTech's
specifically designed application.
Remote Managed PDU's - These allow you
to control the PDU (e.g. turning off ports or groups of ports
remotely)However, there are many other factors to
consider - size, shape, style of connectors, input load, 3 phase
or single phase, etc.etc. |
