 | | | | | | | The NHS Business Services Centre manages finance,
human resource and IS services. The BSC also provides a range of
services for primary care (contractor services) as well as for the
Community Health Councils. The aim of the NHS Business Services
Centre is to reduce the burden of data collection, allowing
resources to be focused on patient care. It also makes information
more accessible, acting as a central resource for information
seekers. This helps strengthen the capacity for informed decision
making, plus supports the use of new technologies, to streamline
data gathering. | | | The NHS had decided to consolidate various
National Health Centres from around the country to form two Business
Service Centres at Pontypool and Swansea. END2END were approached to
design and implement a Data Centre for each building. The timescales
were extremely tight as BSC had to be in and running within an 8
week deadline, but with determined effort from END2END and the
dedicated BSC Operations personnel, the goal was achieved. | | The Data Centre - Both the Data Centres
were built, despite some difficult hurdles to overcome with the
locations and equiped with the latest environmental technologies and
fitted out with racks and remote managment technologies for easy
access to the servers and networks from any location - useful with a
highly skilled but small operational team. | |
